Why is sore throat getting worse in Korea these days?😰
According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the currently circulating cold viruses are very diverse. The number of patients hospitalized for acute respiratory infections, including colds, from the 7th to the 13th was 2095. This is a significant increase from 257 last year and 397 in 2021.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in the Republic of Korea has achieved maturity level four (ML4), the highest level in WHO’s classification of regulatory authorities for medical products, making it the only country to attain this level for both locally produced and imported medicines and vaccines. This achievement represents an important milestone for the Republic of Korea and signifies that the national regulatory authority for medicines and vaccines is operating at an advanced level of performance with continuous improvement. WHO's benchmarking efforts identify regulatory authorities that are operating at an advanced level so that they can act as a reference point for regulatory authorities that lack the resources to perform all necessary regulatory functions, or which have not yet reached higher maturity levels for medical product oversight.
